University Health and Safety Committee
The University Health and Safety Committee (UHSC) is comprised of approximately fourteen members representing management and various employee groups on campus. In addition, a number of other University community members serve as technical resources to the UHSC.
The UHSC has a mandate to advise, assist and make recommendations on policy and procedures which will improve the health, safety and personal security of faculty, staff, students, and the general public while at the University. You can learn more about the role of the Committee and how it functions by reviewing the Terms of Reference.
The University Health and Safety Committee reports to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) through the AVP of Finance and Operations, and cooperates with:
- the Health, Safety and Environment Services office; and
- local safety committees at UBC Okanagan.
Current co-chairs of the UHSC are Michelle Majeran (union) and Roger Bizzotto (management).
